WHS Policy Statement

The well-being of our employees, or people affected by our work, is our priority and must be considered during all work performed on our behalf.

1st Choice is committed to provide a safe and healthy working condition for its workers, visitors, and sub-contractors for their operational activities for the office and for site visits, for the prevention of work- related injury and illness.

The Company has established WHS objectives for all our key areas and the review of performance versus the objectives is part of the Management Review. The objectives of this policy are to, as far as reasonably practicable:

  • achieve a safe and incident free workplace
  • ensure workers are trained to perform their job
  • consider WHS in project planning and work activities
  • involve workers and subcontractors in the decision-making process through regular communication and consultation
  • guarantee workers and subcontractors identify and control risks in the workplace
  • monitor and review the elimination or control of potential risks.

Our WHS System has been established in accordance with ISO 45001:2018 and the company is committed to comply with its procedures as well as and Legal and Other requirements. Our WHS System consists of policies, procedures, forms, and records.

1st Choice is committed to the elimination of hazards, reduction of WHS risks as well as specific requirements relevant to the Context of the Organisation noted in Table 1 within its WHS Procedures Manual.

All workers and contractors must adhere to the requirements of this policy and our procedures and are welcome to provide suggestions for improvement of the WHS System. 1st Choice will review these suggestions and support those that will bring about meaningful continual improvement to our WHS System.

1st Choice is also committed to continual improvement of its WHS System, through its operational and site activities, internal audits, corrective actions, Legal and Other requirements, and the management review process.

This policy statement has been communicated and understood within our Organisation through its display in the Office/Workshop, availability on the company computer system and through the Policy agreement and induction process.

This policy has been made available to relevant interested parties via its availability on the 1st Choice website.
