Our recent project at a school in Elanora Heights involved the removal and disposal of bonded asbestos materials. The scope included asbestos in ceiling sheeting, eaves, and sheeting on and from awnings. With a focus on safety and regulatory compliance, we executed a detailed remediation process:
- Notifications to SafeWork and communication with nearby residents.
- Application of PVA glue to asbestos materials before removal to prevent fibre release.
- Installation of clear signage, and isolation of the work area with fences and barricades.
- Establishment of a decontamination area, complete with essential safety equipment like a 1st Aid kit, Low Voltage Kit, and Defibrillator.
- Coordination for the disposal of asbestos waste to a certified landfill.
- Removal of asbestos materials, followed by a thorough site clean-up and timber decontamination to ensure a completely safe environment.
- Issuance of a clearance certificate by an independent assessor, certifying the successful and safe completion of the asbestos removal.
Our commitment to thorough planning, safety, and environmental responsibility ensured the project was carried out effectively, maintaining a safe environment for the school community.
